Average credit card interest rate on May 19: Record highs persist

The average credit card interest rate on new cards is 20.58% as of May 17 — just one-tenth of a point down from the all-time record it hit the week before, according to the latest survey by CreditCards.com. That’s an increase of 4.41 percentage points since March 2022.
