The Black Sticks women’s hockey team have been urged to starter better after a 3-1 defeat to Germany after conceding a first-minute goal.

Black Sticks men’s hockey team assistant-coach Mike Delaney describe the team’s 3-2 loss to the Netherlands as “gut-wrenching’’ and claimed the Kiwis were on the wrong end of “some pretty tough” umpiring calls.
In a game marred by some questionable officiating, the Vantage Black Sticks Men suffered another heart-wrenching loss against the Netherlands, the world number ones, with a narrow defeat of 3-2.
