In a first, two IBBI members endorse focus on ESG in insolvency resolution

A paper by two senior functionaries of the insolvency regulator in India has proposed amending the bankruptcy law to include consideration of ESG factors in the evaluation of resolution plans for stressed firms. The paper suggests expanding the role of insolvency professionals to consider ESG risks and opportunities during the restructuring process.
