Louisiana State Police are investigating after two prison transport officers shot and killed an inmate trying to escape. State Police Lt. Jared Sandifer says it happened shortly before 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in West Feliciana Parish near the Mississippi state line. Catahoula Parish Sheriff Toney Edwards, in a Facebook post, says the officers stopped the van to help an inmate who had apparently faked a seizure.
