Siena basketball looks to 'attack and finish'

More than a saying, it's a mentality stressed on and off the court, Maciariello emphasized at a community service appearance in Clifton Park on Monday.

"Everything you do, you've got to be able to finish,'' Maciariello said. "You get an and-1, you make the two-point basket, you miss the free throw. You didn't finish. In the classroom, you have a paper due, and you do a rough draft and you don't make the corrections, you just turn in the same rough draft, you didn't finish. Just kind of having that mindset in all we do."

Sophomore point guard Jalen Pickett said the motto is particularly relevant to this team. The Saints go into next season with high expectations after surprising many with a 17-16 record and a tie for second place in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference a year ago.
