Catch Lake Tahoe scenes in the new, surprise trailer for 'Top Gun: Maverick'

San Diego Comic-Con is annually a lightning rod for A-list celebs, but no one in Southern California foresaw an unannounced appearance by Maverick himself, Tom Cruise.

As multiple outlets report, Cruise took the stage during Paramount Pictures' Thursday Comic-Con panel to preview footage from the forthcoming sequel to 1986 flick "Top Gun," 2020's "Top Gun: Maverick."
