Kraton: 2Q Earnings Snapshot

HOUSTON (AP) _ Kraton Performance Polymers Inc. (KRA) on Wednesday reported second-quarter net income of $41.2 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Houston-based company said it had net income of $1.28 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and costs related to mergers and acquisitions, came to $1.58 per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.09 per share.

The specialty chemical company posted revenue of $495.3 million in the period.

Kraton shares have climbed 42% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $31.11, a fall of 33% in the last 12 months.
