Prosecutors: Man wounded in police-involved shooting

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a police officer shot and wounded a man in northwestern New Jersey.

Warren County prosecutors say the shooting on Washburn Avenue in Washington Township occurred shortly before 1 p.m. Thursday. But further details on the incident were not immediately disclosed.

The wounded man was flown to a hospital, but his name and further details on his condition were not released.

The officer was not shot and apparently escaped serious injury.
