Live Nation: 2Q Earnings Snapshot

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) _ Live Nation Entertainment Inc. (LYV) on Thursday reported second-quarter profit of $89.8 million.

On a per-share basis, the Beverly Hills, California-based company said it had profit of 41 cents.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 39 cents per share.

The ticket seller and concert promoter posted revenue of $3.16 billion in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Nine analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.2 billion.

Live Nation shares have risen 47% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $72.53, a climb of 38% in the last 12 months.
