Injury settles UAlbany quarterback competition

Dahn will be out three to four weeks, according to UAlbany head coach Greg Gattuso, which means Undercuffler will be the starter when the Great Danes open at Central Michigan on Aug. 29.

Gattuso said Dahn injured his hand against a helmet while throwing a pass in practice on Friday.

"Yeah, it's disappointing,'' Gattuso said. "(Dahn) still had two or three weeks to try to compete. He was getting better every day. In some ways, it lets Jeff settle in and get a little confidence going forward, too which is important."
