Give Kittle a rest? Easier said than done for 49ers
The 49ers’ project, unofficially known as Give George Kittle a Break, is off to a slow start. The Pro Bowl tight end played 91 percent (62 of 68) of the offensive snaps Sunday in a season-opening win at Tampa Bay, which topped his average of 88 percent from last year. General manager John Lynch has said the 49ers kept four tight ends on their 53-man roster because they wanted to ease some of Kittle’s burden.
