Police: Minister raped 2 girls, made each other watch

MIAMI (AP) — A Miami pastor is charged with raping two young girls and forcing each to watch as he assaulted the other.

The Miami Herald reports that Yunior Beltres is charged with two counts of sexual battery on a minor. The girls are 9 and 10. They reported the assaults in July, saying they happened in May and June at Beltres' home. Their relationship to the 54-year-old pastor was not disclosed by police.

Beltres is the preacher of Evangelistic Ministry of Columns of Fire church. Records show he has been with the church for at least 23 years.

A woman at the church told the Herald the charges are false but declined to give her name.

Beltres was being held Saturday without bond at a Miami-Dade County jail.
