The areas affected include...

Sandy Hook NJ to Fire Island Inlet NY out 40 NM...

The Open Waters 20 to 40 NM south of Fire Island Inlet to Moriches

Inlet NY...

At 452 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable

of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located

7 nm northeast of Shark River Reef, moving east at 35 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor

immediately until this storm passes.
