UConn fraternity on suspension following student’s fall
STORRS, Conn. (AP) — A fraternity at the University of Connecticut has been placed on interim suspension as school authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding a student’s fall from a third-floor dorm window.
A UConn spokeswoman said in an email Thursday that Zeta Beta Tau’s suspension “is not a sanction, but is part of the university’s response to alleged behavior that would violate the student code of conduct.” It will remain in effect until the matter is resolved.
Emergency personnel responded to a dorm in the Northwest residential area at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
They found one student on the ground below the window, and a second injured student in a dorm room.
Both were taken to Windham Hospital. The person who fell from the window was transferred to Hartford Hospital. No names were released.
