Saturday was a bit of a reality check I thought and certainly one for me. I spoke last week about having a sniff of beating the Aussies with the strength in our pack but it got mullered by a Tongan pack that whilst strong, isn’t a patch on what Australia would throw at us. I was really shocked by James Graham’s performance and when you think there are huge question marks over Sam Burgess, that’s two World Class forwards we may be down come next seasons Ashes series. As dominant as Thompson and Walmsley have been at super league level, they’ve both got it all to prove in regards to being as dominant as those two have been in the NRL and at the international level. Have we got the next Graham, Sam Burgess, Peacock, Morley etc in our system? I’m not convinced at the minute. Guys like Thompson and Bateman are absolute top draw but lack the size to give them that aura like a Morley had or Sam Burgess has had.
