Area brew pubs differ on food options
There are over 400 breweries, microbreweries, farm breweries, and brewpubs located across New York state, according to the New York State Brewers Association. The last time there were this many breweries in the state was in 1876, according to a press release from Gov. Cuomo's office in 2018. Fifty of those breweries are in the Capital Region, Saratoga and the Adirondacks.
As breweries continue to open and taprooms welcome customers to sample their tasty brews, breweries are also looking at what food options are possible for their customers. State law requires that food be available in spaces that serve alcohol. While all are required to offer some food options, not all breweries use the same approach: some provide full on-site dining, with a restaurant or permanent food service option. Some get by with a bowl of pretzels, and others allow customers to bring their own food. Here are some ways you can eat your fill while at a brewery in the Capital Region.
