SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (AP) _ Cytokinetics Inc. (CYTK) on Thursday reported a loss of $29.6 million in its third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the South San Francisco, California-based company said it had a loss of 50 cents.

The biopharmaceutical company posted revenue of $6.1 million in the period.

Cytokinetics shares have risen 83% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $11.57, an increase of 73% in the last 12 months.
