Costa Palmas provides secluded alternative to Los Cabos’ crowds, congestion
Famous for its white sand beaches, tropical climate and dazzling ocean views, Los Cabos, Mexico has long been a destination for tourists. Its popularity is evidenced by the parade of resorts clustered along the southwest tip of the Baja peninsula.
Los Cabos’ status as a world-renowned getaway means beaches and resorts remain crowded throughout the year.
But an exclusive development on the East Cape, facing the Sea of Cortéz, delivers superlative amenities on a secluded swath of waterfront property.
Costa Palmas, a 1,000-acre paradise boasting a spa, yacht club, marina, private residences, a Four Seasons Resort and an 18-hole golf course, presents the opportunity to stay and play somewhere a little less crowded.
Conceptualized by Irongate, creators of branded residential and resort communities in Hawaii, Colorado and Mexico, Costa Palmas is a master-planned community resting on two miles of pristine beaches that opened in 2017. Golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. crafted a championship golf course that cuts through the East Cape’s golden dunes and officially opens this weekend.
Jason Grosfeld, Irongate’s Chairman and CEO, raved about Jones’ design and how it complements the natural landscape.
“With stunning views of the Sea of Cortéz, Sierra de la Laguna Mountain range and our very own private marina, coupled with unparalleled on-course amenities, we welcome golfers of all levels to experience all that the East Cape has to offer,” he said in a press statement.
Construction on Costa Palmas’ Four Seasons Resort wrapped up earlier this year. Future plans include the construction of Mexico’s first Aman property, Amanvari, which is slated to open in 2021.
But the Sunset Villas at Costa Palmas arguably stand out as the stars of a resort offering...
