Connecticut man convicted of child porn charges for 2nd time
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut man who spent time behind bars on a child pornography conviction has been sent back to prison after pleading guilty to new child porn charges, federal prosecutors said.
Brian Herndon, 45, of New Britain, was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Hartford to seven years in prison and 10 years of probation. He pleaded guilty in November to possession of child pornography and violating the conditions of his supervised release from the previous conviction.
Herndon was first convicted of child pornography possession in January 2009 and was sentenced to six years in prison. He was released in May 2014 but remained on probation, authorities said.
In September 2015, federal probation officers seized a laptop from Herndon's home and found more than 2,200 images and 74 videos depicting the sexual abuse of children, prosecutors said.
Herndon was also ordered by the judge to pay a total of $5,000 to two victims whose images he possessed.
