BOSTON (AP) _ Ironwood Pharmaceuticals Inc. (IRWD) on Wednesday reported first-quarter net income of $3.3 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Boston-based company said it had profit of 2 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 4 cents per share.

The drugmaker posted revenue of $79.9 million in the period.

Ironwood shares have declined 22% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $10.40, a decline of 2% in the last 12 months.
