Tiptree: 1Q Earnings Snapshot

NEW YORK (AP) _ Tiptree Financial Inc. (TIPT) on Thursday reported a first-quarter loss of $60 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the New York-based company said it had a loss of $1.74.

The insurance and specialty finance company posted revenue of $129.7 million in the period.

Tiptree shares have dropped 26% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased roughly 6% in the last 12 months.
