Bears Released A Best of Jay Cutler Mic’d Up and It’s So Beautiful

0

Jay Cutler is a name that every Chicago Bears fan remember. Most will say it’s for his on-field exploits. Which is fair. The guy left the team with every notable franchise passing record. He had arguably the best playoff performance for a QB in team history and got them to an NFC championship. However, a lot of those people would be lying because they remember him even more for his mouth.

One thing the Bears and the NFL just loved to do since he arrived in Chicago was putting a mic on him. That’s because the guy was an incredibly entertaining quote. He wasn’t afraid to say anything to anybody. He’d rib teammates, crack jokes, and just make casual observations that were delightfully off-the-wall and hilarious.

To celebrate his legacy, the Bears released a new video that covers the best mic’d up moments of Cutler’s Bears career. The answer to the obvious question is yes. It is as incredible as it sounds.

Jay Cutler was a lot of things, but entertaining above all

The crowning moment had to be when Cutler chastised Caleb Hanie for not knowing more about other backup quarterbacks. Wasn’t that his responsibility? Just solid gold. This video is a reminder that the former quarterback was so misunderstood. He wasn’t perfect. There were faults. Most notably his somewhat indifferent attitude to fans from time to time.

That said, no Bears QB embraced the role of an entertainer like Cutler, and he did it so naturally. It wasn’t a shock at all when he became a reality TV star after retiring. That lifestyle was tailor-made for him. If only he’d won more games. He’d be viewed as a Chicago icon. Still, odds are his legacy will grow brighter as the years go on. Somebody who becomes more and more appreciated for what he accomplished.
