Officials arrest 4 in Kodiak drug raid
KODIAK, Alaska (AP) — Police say they have arrested four people in Kodiak after seizing $74,000 worth of drugs during home raids.
Alaska Dispatch News reports (http://bit.ly/1OMZBJf ) that Kodiak police served search warrants to three residences early Sunday with the help of the FBI and the U.S. Coast Guard.
A statement from Kodiak police says officials found 120 grams of heroin and 146 grams of methamphetamine. Officials also seized more than $23,000 in cash and nine guns.
The four people face felony drug and weapon charges.
Kodiak police reported seizing more methamphetamine than any other drug, according to the Alaska State Troopers' most recent drug report.
Police Chief Rhonda Wallace says heroin is now as prevalent as meth.
