‘Male Karen’ is so upset by social distancing that he scrapes 6-feet reminder stickers off store floor

A man in Canada is raising eyebrows after being filmed in a drugstore scraping social distancing stickers off the floor.

The footage, taken in Niagara Falls, Ontario, shows the man removing numerous stickers designed to keep shoppers at least six feet apart.

Identified as Sandor Ligetfalvy by the Niagara Falls Review, the man can be heard singing while removing the store's property.

"I scrape in the morning, I scrape in the evening, all over this land," Ligetfalvy says. "I scrape for justice, I scrape for freedom, I scrape for love between my brothers and my sisters all over this land."

Ligetfalvy, who also refused to wear a mask, is eventually confronted and told to leave by the store's manager. But the man continues removing stickers, arguing that he is fighting to "liberate the people."

The manager eventually orders all customers to leave the store and asks another employee call the police.

The video, which was uploaded to the YouTube channel "SCRAPE FOR TRUTH," has been poorly received. The footage has been bombarded with downvotes and comments calling Ligetfalvy a "Karen."

"Missing the tinfoil hat and then this would be perfect," one commenter said.

Speaking with the Niagara Falls Review, Ligetfalvy argued that his act wasn't vandalism but a case of "unvandalism."

“I’m tired of having to go to a store — which used to be a type of therapy — and now it’s a type of trauma," he said.

Ligetfalvy says he was confronted by police and handcuffed leaving the store. The man was charged with one count of mischief and is due in court in October.

Ligetfalvy will also be in court in December for ignoring Niagara Region's mandatory mask bylaw for certain public areas.

“If we don’t push back now, we’ll never get the chance to push back,” he said. “What are we doing to our society when we’re promoting fear everywhere we go?"
