The heart of SF Japantown is doing what it has to do to survive

Japan Center, the cluster of malls that make up the heart of San Francisco’s Japantown, is home to dozens of restaurants, from intimate omakase spots to grab-and-go snack kiosks hawking mochi donuts and takoyaki. Previously, restaurants benefited from the bustling location, drawing in hungry shoppers looking for a tasty respite in between hitting up Daiso and the Kinokuniya bookstore.
