A’s A.J. Puk to have shoulder surgery; Matt Chapman seeks second opinion for hip injury

Oakland A’s manager Bob Melvin said Friday that Athletics pitcher A.J. Puk will have shoulder surgery Wednesday in Los Angeles. Puk, projected to be in the rotation, has been shut down three times with shoulder discomfort this year.
