Warrington Wolves • Longest winning run?

The 2009 winning run was similar to 2005, in that we went into it in bad shape (I think the week before was the loss to Cas where Matt King gave the V sign to fans who were giving him stick) and came out of it looking forward with confidence to a Challenge Cup semi against Wigan, with the misfiring stars King and Monaghan now starting to show great form.

The one big thing that was missing from Cullen's teams post-2005, which played some great rugby at times, was getting into the rhythm of another winning run like that. Every time we seemed to be making forward progress we would lose to a team we should have really beaten. It was also a problem in most of the Brian Johnson era other than when Davies was here. The soft losses just deflate everyone.
