Japan Film Festival of San Francisco: For a while in the 2000s, it seemed as if Tadanobu Asano (“Ichii the Killer,” Marvel’s “Thor”) was in half of all Japanese movies, and the handsome, versatile actor is still going strong. The eight-day festival, in conjunction with the J-Pop Summit 2015, features lots of anime (“The Wind Rises,” “The Tale of Princess Kaguya”) and recent feature-length and short films, as well as a documentary, “The Birth of Sake.
