Wisconsin State Fair features 176 deep fried items

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin State Fair is in full swing and the deep fryers are getting a good workout.

Press-Gazette Media reports (http://gbpg.net/1IPCKrk ) there are 176 deep fried menu items this year at the fair — including 43 on a stick. There are also 16 deep fried items that include bacon.

Other deep fried items include pretzel crusted brownies on a stick, apple wontons, artichokes, bananas and pickles.

There are also 11 deep fried concoctions involving funnel cakes, 12 involving corn dogs and 15 deep fried cheese choices.

The fair runs through Aug. 16.__=
