Virus issues for USC men force postponement of game against Stanford
The USC men’s basketball team halted activities and canceled Sunday’s game against Stanford after a coronavirus case was confirmed in the program.
The Pac-12 will try to reschedule it. Stanford already had three nonconference home games canceled this month.
A USC spokesman said the individual who tested positive was identified before contact with anyone expected to participate in the game and was in isolation.
The Trojans are scheduled to host USF on Wednesday.
Cal Poly 75, San Jose State 71: Alimamy Koroma had 19 points off the bench to lead the host Mustangs (2-2). Richard Washington scored 24 for the Spartans (1-2). Seneca Knight added 18 points and seven rebounds. Ralph Agee had 13 points and eight rebounds. Omari Moore, second on the Spartans in scoring entering Sunday with 17 points per game, missed 5 of his 6 shots.
#3 Iowa 106, Northern Illinois 53: Luka Garza scored 23 and Joe Wieskamp added 20 for the host Hawkeyes (6-0). Garza, who came into the game leading the nation in scoring, added eight rebounds while playing just 20 minutes. Adong Makuoi had 14 points for the Huskies (0-5).
#4 Michigan St.109, Oakland 91: Gabe Brown scored 20 and the host Spartans (6-0) used a 13-0 run early in the second half to take control. Rashad Williams scored 23 of his 36 points in the first half for the Golden Grizzlies (0-7), his second straight huge game against a big-name opponent.
#11 West Virginia 87, #19 Richmond 71: Miles McBride scored 20 and the Mountaineers (6-1) used a hot-shooting first half to beat the visiting Spiders (4-1).
