Police: Man wanted in kidnapping of 18-year-old in Florida

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. (AP) — Authorities are searching for an 18-year-old woman who they say was kidnapped at gunpoint from outside her South Florida home over the weekend.

The woman and her parents were confronted by Jaddier T. Sanchez, 37, when the arrived home early Sunday morning, according to Pembroke Pines police. Hours later, her parents were found along a road in Belle Glade, which is near Lake Okeechobee in Palm Beach County.

Police said that after forcing the family into their red Dodge Ram pickup truck, Sanchez drove them to multiple banks in the area to force them to withdraw cash.

The younger woman is being held against her will, police said. Police told news outlets that Sanchez and the woman “shared a romantic relationship.” They offered no additional details.
