Bachelorette: Bennett Jordan Says His Season Could've Gone Differently

0

Bennett Jordan, who appeared on Tayshia Adams' season of The Bachelorette, thinks he could've been a final contender if a few things went differently. The 36-year-old had deep feelings for Tayshia, but her heart ultimately went to Zac Clark. As Tayshia enjoys her engagement to the addiction recovery specialist, Bennett is reflecting on his journey to find love with more clarity. He now understands what may have allowed him to get down on one knee instead of Zac.

Throughout The Bachelorette season 16, Bennett was portrayed as a villain that Bachelor Nation loved to hate. The Harvard graduate came off downright pompous at times, especially during his schooling of "Young" Noah Erb on the four areas of emotional intelligence. However, Bennett's mission to win Tayshia's heart was evident. After she sent him home following his infamous two-on-one date with Noah, he showed up on her doorstep for a second chance, only to be eliminated again. Although Tayshia appreciated Bennett's intellect and quirkiness, her relationships with the remaining men were much stronger.

In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Bennett opened up about what could've helped a romance with Tayshia bloom. One of the main reasons his relationship failed, according to Bennett, was that he was never selected for a one-on-one date. Without this coveted alone time with The Bachelorette, he had limited opportunities to show Tayshia his vulnerable side. "I think things could have potentially been different," Bennett said. Still, he has no regrets about how he handled the minimal time he was given with her. "For me, I couldn't have done it much differently," he said. "I wanted to put myself out there and genuinely let her know how I was feeling."

Even though Bennett wasn't Tayshia's final pick, he bounced back and is putting himself out there. Earlier this year, Bennett was allegedly spotted on a date in New York City with Kit Keenan, a contestant from Matt James' season of The Bachelor. The two, who boast a 15-year age difference, appear to just be friends. Prior to this, he attempted to shoot his shot with former Bachelor Peter Weber's ex, Kelley Flanagan, but this didn't go anywhere. While Bennett may be striking out with women of the franchise, he's building quite the following of adoring fans on social media thanks to his model-worthy photos and shirtless banana bread classes.

Whether someone is a Bachelor or Bachelorette lead, or one of several dozen contestants vying for their attention, the process is taxing. The cutthroat competition involves deep feelings and emotions, and most people are bound to get hurt at least once. For those who don't find love on the show, it's easy to look back with regret. But Bennett fought for time with Tayshia, even breaking the rules to do so. Bachelor Nation hopes he finds love soon, possibly on Bachelor In Paradise, which returns this summer.
