SIR Keir Starmer rocks a New Romantic 1980s mop top and eyeliner in never-seen-before photos.

The black and white images from the Labour leader’s Leeds university days were shared by Piers Morgan ahead of his Life Stories interview last night.

In the 1982 picture, the future Sir Keir would not look out of place in a band like Spandau Ballet.

He poses in a sleeveless shirt — a far cry from the sharp suits the 58-year-old usually wears today.

Sir Keir sat down with Piers to speak about his childhood growing up in Surrey and his mum’s battle with a rare form of arthritis.

He revealed how when he was just 13 his father called from the hospital and asked him to prepare his siblings for the worst.

The revealing chat saw him speak about his childhood and the loss of his mother[/caption]

And he admitted he didn’t get the chance to tell his mum everything he wanted to when she did reach the end.

Sir Keir also talked about major moments in his political career to date.

But he stonewalled Piers on elements of his private life, including being asked 14 times whether he has taken drugs.
