Pretty Little Liars: Each Main Character's Most Iconic Scene
While few would love to live in creepy Rosewood and the main characters on Pretty Little Liars have some scary experiences, fans would still love to befriend many of them. Over seven seasons, viewers saw Ali and her pals during good times and bad, as they ran from A, learned there was an A-Team, and still found time to go to school, start relationships, and spend time together.
Each main character on Pretty Little Liars has a storyline that stands out the most, and they each have a specific scene that fans will never forget. These moments are special as they help fans understand why these characters act the way that they do, or in some cases, they set up some important romantic relationships in the series.
10 Lucas Gottesman: When He Says That Ali Bullied Him
Lucas is an intelligent character who's a bit of a loner, and he and Hanna become closer in the first season of the show.
His most memorable scene is when he tells Hanna that Ali really made him feel terrible when she insulted him and had a terrible nickname for him. Hanna and Lucas bond at this moment, as Hanna reveals that Ali teased her, too, and she didn't feel that comfortable being part of her friend group. This is important for both characters, as they realize that they have more in common than they thought, and that kindness is more important than popularity.
9 Mona Vanderwaal: When She Has A Dollhouse In The Series Finale
In the series finale, it's revealed that Mona is playing the game all by herself, as she is living in France and has a dollhouse where she has put Mary and Alex Drake.
This is Mona's most iconic scene and her best one, too, as she has finally taken control. Even though it feels a bit strange to cheer her on for creating a real-life horror story, it works for the story as Mary and Alex Drake are evil, and fans want to see someone get revenge on them. Mona has always been a mastermind and she shines here.
8 Toby Cavanaugh: When He Kisses Spencer For The First Time
In some ways, Toby and Spencer have a tricky romance, but the beginning of their relationship goes pretty smoothly — or as smoothly as it can on a mysterious teen drama with lots of twists and dark moments.
After they kiss for the first time, they smile sweetly at each other and Spencer says, "I was not expecting that." Toby replies, "Me either." This is a Toby scene that stands out the most, as when fans were first introduced to him, he seemed like an outcast who might not be that nice. It turns out that Toby is a sweetheart and fans, along with Spencer, swoon over him.
7 Caleb Rivers: When He And Hanna Go Camping
Hanna doesn't always make the right choices, like when she hides Caleb in her house and thinks that her mom will have no idea. But she is definitely correct in trusting Caleb and seeing something good and special in him, as the two have a great relationship and even get married at the end of the series.
Many teen dramas have a rebellious character and here, it's Caleb, who has a rough home life and a bad boy vibe. Hanna and Caleb fall for each other even more when they go camping and have sex for the first time. This is Caleb's most memorable moment, as he is kind and proves that he's devoted to Hanna.
6 Ezra Fitz: When He's In His Lair And Seems To Be On The A-Team
Learning that Ezra could be A, or is at least on the A-Team, is shocking and yet it's also a bit of a red herring, as it turns out that Ezra isn't actually involved at all. He has been doing "research" by spying on the liars so he can write a book about Ali.
Ezra is a problematic character thanks to this love story with Aria, who is underage, and the fact that he has been spying on everyone doesn't do him any favors, either. It's hard to forget the moment when fans see him in his lair wearing dark clothing and a baseball cap. He seems so creepy here.
5 Alison DiLaurentis: When She Wears A Yellow Tank Top During The Sleepover, Then Disappears
It feels like Ali is the protagonist on PLL and it's true that the whole tale begins with her and the night that she goes missing.
The girls have a lot of fun during this sleepover, which turns out to be much more memorable than they ever anticipated. Later, Aria and the other liars wake up to find Ali gone. When Ali is wearing a yellow tank top at the sleepover, it's definitely her most iconic scene. Fans always remember this shirt and associate it with her.
4 Emily Fields: When She Kisses Maya In The Photo Booth
When Emily meets Maya in season 1, she likes her immediately, and it's tough for Emily to see Maya and her family moving into Ali's old house.
The characters take some photos in a booth and share their first kiss, and it's a romantic moment, as well as the most memorable one for Emily. This is when she knows that she wants to be with Maya. It's also great that Hanna supports her and knows that Emily wants to go to homecoming with Maya.
3 Hanna Marin: When She Escapes After Being Kidnapped
Hanna has some uneven storylines but her most iconic Pretty Little Liars scene is after she gets kidnapped.
At the beginning of season 7, Hanna is able to escape, and fans cheer her on... until they see that she comes across a car belonging to Mary Drake. This is terrifying and proves that the horror isn't over just yet. It's tough to watch Hanna in yet another scary situation thanks to A. In the next episode, Mary helps Hanna get away, and once she's back home, she decides that she can't marry Jordan after all.
2 Aria Montgomery: When She Meets Ezra In The Bar
After meeting Ezra at a bar in Rosewood, Aria begins dating him and she experiences many low points in her life.
While their relationship has problems, as the age difference is too much at first, it's true that no one can forget when they meet each other at the bar and Ezra thinks that she's a college student. This is Aria's most iconic scene in the teen drama, especially since it sets up her character as someone who is a bit rebellious and determined to follow her heart.
1 Spencer Hastings: When Toby Rescues Her From Alex Drake's Hold
In a controversial way to end the series, Spencer has a twin named Alex Drake who is bad news, and she has been spying on everyone and trying to make Spencer's life horrible and miserable.
Spencer's most memorable scene on Pretty Little Liars is when Toby rescues her from Alex, who has kidnapped her. Spencer's life seems to be on the line here and it's definitely scary to see, and it's wonderful that Toby is able to get Spencer back to safety. Thanks to the history that the two former lovers have together, this scene is even more significant, as Toby has always tried to protect her.
