Genshin Impact: How to Find ‘Celi Lata’ (& What it is)
Genshin Impact’s final event of Version 1.5 “Mimi Tomo” lets players delve deeper into the world of the Hilichurls, and communicate with them to defeat the Unusual Hilichurl causing chaos all over Mondstadt. Alongside Hilichurl expert Ella Musk, players will be tasked with communicating with Hilichurls to proceed with the event.
Hilichurls make their item requests in Hilichurlian, meaning players will have to consult the “Handy Handbook of Hilichurlian” to decipher what they’re asking for. Here’s what ‘Celi Lata’ is, and how to get it to complete the quest.
Using Ella’s Hilichurlian translation guide will give players access to all the currently known Hilichurlian phrases, as well as their different possible meanings. As the “Mimi Tomo” event goes on, the Hilichurlian phrases presented to the player will require more interpretation, instead of direct answers.
The fourth Hilichurl the player speaks to will ask for ‘Celi Lata’. The Hilichurlian handbook states that ‘Celi lata’ is an unusual figure of speech that implies both cold and heat. Reading on, the book notes ‘Celi lata’ can describe things such as fireflies, stars, or the moon. The only item on this list available to the player are fireflies, so ‘Celi lata’ means the Hilichurl is asking for a Luminescent Spine.
Luminescent Spines can only be procured by interacting with fireflies. Fireflies spawn throughout Liyue in open-grass areas, and are more likely to appear at night. Fireflies can also appear by whacking bushes. Fireflies tend to spawn in clusters in certain spots, so areas like Lingju Pass and Tianqiu Valley. They can be difficult to farm as they’re quick-moving and hard to see, and the game notes that dashing towards them will make them disperse. To make catching fireflies easier, players should make sure they're walking instead of sprinting, to avoid scaring them away.
Luminescent Spines currently only have one usage: crafting Portable Waypoints. Otherwise, they currently can't be used for any player or weapon ascensions, so players who have been playing the game for a while should already have a few in their inventory to use for this quest.
Once the item has been handed to the Hilichurl, it will inform the player where the Unusual Hilichurl that needs to be defeated is. Defeating the Unusual Hilichurl will gift primogems and furniture blueprints, so players will want to brush up on their Hilichurlian to complete the Mimi Tomo event before it ends!
Genshin Impact is available now on PC, Mobile, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.
