Great Among Us Mods Inspired By Other Video Games | Screen Rant

0

Mods have been a popular aspect of Among Us for a while now, but once the social deduction game rose drastically in popularity last year, modded content has been even more common. Some of the best new mods are inspired by other video games and shake up Among Us' typical Impostors vs. crewmates mechanics.

A recent mod that has been getting a lot of attention lately is the Pokémon Trainer Role Mod in Among Us. This allows Impostors to trap crewmates in Poké Balls for unique kills. It also features iconic monsters from the series, like Pikachu and Charizard. Unfortunately, this mod isn't public yet - but players could theoretically luck into a game where it's being used. Given how popular the mod is right now, it's also likely someone else will create a variation of this mod for public use.

Another great video game-inspired mod gives Impostors all the power of Bowser, while a crewmate assigned the Mario role is the only one who can defeat them. Just like the Pokémon Trainer Role Mod, this Mario vs. Bowser Mod in Among Us is also not available for public use. However, there are quite a few variants of this mod out there already, which means the chances are good one will be made public eventually. Thankfully, some other mods inspired by video games are already available for anyone to use.

There are already a lot of mods for Among Us inspired by Town of Salem, a social deduction game from 2014. Several popular and public role mods like Detective, Doctor, and Sheriff seemingly come directly from this game, since these roles in Among Us function similarly to their Town of Salem counterparts. For players looking to shake up gameplay even more, there's also the Town of Us Mod.

Modded roles are often the most popular kind in Among Us, so it makes sense for a mod to add in as many roles as possible all at once. The Town of Us Mod in Among Us adds in 19 roles, many of them inspired by the Town of Salem video game, and is available for anyone to install. This sets it apart from other video game-inspired mods that haven't quite reached the public yet.

While each of these mods shakes up gameplay in some form or another, the Town of Us Mod arguably has the most impact and is the most fun. Anyone looking to add more roles into their rounds of Among Us should definitely check it out.
