City softball: El Camino Real, Kennedy earn first-round home games in Open Division playoffs

The City Section released the high school softball playoff pairings Wednesday afternoon, which are set to begin next week.
The Open Division will begin June 7. Divisions I, II and III begin June 4.
No. 2-seeded El Camino Real will host No. 7 Legacy in the Open Division first round on Monday. No. 4 Kennedy will host No. 5 Granada Hills Charter and No. 6 Birmingham Charter will travel to No. 3 Carson. Out-of-area San Pedro is the No. 1-seeded team in the division, and will host No. 8 Marshall.
Chavez is the No. 1 and San Fernando is the No. 2 seed in Division I, which came with first-round byes. The two teams will take the field June 8 against opponents that are yet to be determined.
