Coronavirus tracker: California reports 1,576 new cases and 25 new deaths on June 1
In California, 1,576 new cases of the coronavirus were reported Tuesday, June 1, according to end-of-day totals on public health websites, bringing the total number of cases so far to 3,763,135.
There were 25 new deaths reported statewide Tuesday, for a total of 62,953 people who have died from COVID-19.
The state reported two fewer hospitalizations from the previous day, decreasing the total hospitalizations of those infected with the coronavirus to 1,330. That’s a 94% decrease from the Jan. 6 high of 22,843.
According to the California Department of Public Health, 37 million vaccine doses have been administered in the state and 42.8% of residents are now fully vaccinated.
