Big Shot: Which Character Are You, Based On Your Zodiac Sign?

0

Over on Disney+, the Westbrook Sirens, a basketball team from a private high school in California, are competing against their seaside rivals for a spot in division two. It may seem like a pretty standard story, but what makes it special is that Marvyn Korn (John Stamos), a former NCAA basketball coach, is helming their ship.

Now, the sports storyline is obviously an engaging one, but all the best athletically-inclined shows care about the characters the most. On Big Shot, the characters have received plenty of attention (each installment seems to re-focus itself on one of the players). Through their successes and struggles, it has become quite clear how the stars of Big Shot best align with the signs of the Zodiac.

12 Aries: Louise

Louise Gruzinsky (Nell Verlaque) is the star player for Westbrook and the one who potentially has a clear future in professional basketball. She's also enduring a period of family turmoil when Big Shot enters into her specific arc.

As such, she is one of the most dynamic characters and competitive spirits on the court. The sign of Aries is one that focuses on the competitive side of life and is always pushing itself to be better. That means Louise fits that mold soundly.

11 Taurus: Destiny

The sign of Taurus is one that is known for its dependable nature, as well as its ability to be in tune with the sensitivity of the world around it. For Big Shot, a Taurus representative would need to be dependable both on and off the court.

This is certainly the case for Destiny (Tiana Le). She consistently shows resilience in the face of adversity and she never allows personal problems to let down her friends and teammates.

10 Gemini: Pappas

Pappas (Richard Robichaux) is the unpredictable guidance counselor at Westbrook. At times, he can be finicky and rule-oriented. Other times, he cares about helping people by any means necessary.

This dual nature may be a bit chaotic for a guidance position, but it at least channels Gemini energy. Geminis tend to have a versatile temperament and Pappas possesses that to help all swaths of students.

9 Cancer: Finkman

Finkman (Cricket Wampler) is a character whose nature is more interior than expressive. Always willing to speak her mind among friends, she tends to be more of an introvert around others.

But she is always there to look out for them still. These levels of intuition and protection position Finkman squarely in Cancer territory. After all, there may be no more compassionate sign than Cancer.

8 Leo: Marvyn

The aforementioned Marvyn Korn is the protagonist of the show and the pivot point upon which many of the show's arcs unfold. As such, he is the easiest character to peg down for a Zodiac sign because there is Leo on his sleeve.

No one can cage the lion that is Marvyn Korn. Confident and sure of his tactics, his self-assured nature is met with a fiery spirit (and the occasional temper) that makes him one of the most prominent Leos on the streaming service.

7 Virgo: Mouse

Virgos are most well-regarded for their loyalty to others. A friend who is a Virgo is a friend for a lifetime because they lead with practical advice and gentle comfort.

Mouse (Tisha Eve Custodio) fits this criteria perfectly. She takes an analytical lens to many of the problems she faces, but she also knows when to be empathetic around her friends.

6 Libra: Sherilyn

Sherilyn (Yvette Nicole Brown) could've easily been a trope-addled character. As the dean of Westbrook who deals with the unconventional tactics of Marvyn, it's easy to imagine a version of the character who acts like someone with disapproving glances and imposed hurdles.

Fortunately, thanks to Brown's performance and the writing of the character, she is much more dynamic. She is serious-minded, yes, but she is also fair and hopeful to see the basketball team succeed. All of these attributes connect firmly to the diplomatic nature of the Libra sign.

5 Scorpio: Emma

As the daughter of Marvyn, much of Emma's (Sophia Mitri Schloss) arc so far has been in service of escaping his shadow. She has been resourceful in her efforts, as she is keen on deepening her relationship with her father while also carving out a path at her new school for herself.

This matches Emma up with the Scorpio sign fairly well. Scorpios are resourceful, but they're also stubborn (Emma doesn't roll over to Marvyn's occasionally aloof nature) and gregarious.

4 Sagittarius: Olive

The sign of Sagittarius is typically associated with extroversion, a good sense of humor, and the occasional dip into more superficial territory. Olive (Monique Green) checks off all three of these.

She always has the best line deliveries on the show, but she's also highly social, almost to the dangerous point of acting extremely fake on the Internet. But Olive contains multitudes, just as any Sagittarius would.

3 Capricorn: Terri

Terri Grint (Toks Olagundoye) is another teacher at Westbrook, but one who is not quite so tolerant of the basketball culture at the school. Her interest is in the realm of academia.

Essentially, Terri embodies the "student before athlete in student-athlete" mentality of an educator. It's a perfectly reasonable standpoint; she just goes about it with Capricorn energy: overly seriously and with extreme discipline.

2 Aquarius: McCarthy

Coach McCarthy (Camryn Manheim) is a character who has only appeared sparingly so far, but things seem to point to a significant future for the character. The abrasive leader of Westbrook's arch-rival, Carlsbad, is heavily feeding the arc of Holly (Jessalyn Gilsig).

However, she also might be one of the meanest characters on all of Disney Plus. The nice way to put it is that she is as uncompromising as an Aquarius. The more honest way to put it is that she berates innocent teenagers. Perhaps, there will be more to McCarthy's arc going forward.

1 Pisces: Holly

Speaking of Holly Barrett, the assistant coach at Westbrook, she might just be the breakout of Big Shot. Gilsig holds her own in scenes with Stamos and she is a welcomed counterbalance to the spirited nature of Korn's regime.

Holly brings a sense of empathy and understanding to the team, as well as wisdom for coaching at the level the Sirens are at. The sign of Pisces is defined by its open-mindedness and down-to-earth nature, leveling out a strong tether to Holly's character.
