Love Island host Laura Whitmore parties with hundreds of festival-goers just days before flying to Majorca
LAURA Whitmore is on a collision course with Love Island bosses after partying with hundreds of festival-goers just days before flying to Majorca.
Eyewitnesses at the boutique Estate Festival in Bedfordshire told how the ITV2 presenter was spotted relaxing with pals at the music event yesterday.
And they told of their surprise at seeing the host mingling freely with the crowds before jetting off to film the Love Island launch next Sunday.
One said: “Laura was having a lovely time with her pals, enjoying some drinks and the music. But she definitely did not appear to be socially distancing.
“The festival billed itself as socially distanced, but in reality it was more of a free-for-all booze up.
“And it was a surprise to see Laura there given it is only a few days before Love Island starts, and the show could be easily derailed by people falling ill.”
Last year’s series of the red hot ITV show was cancelled as the pandemic raged. This year, bosses are pulling out all the stops to make sure things go without a hitch.
Sources told how all contestants had to quarantine for two weeks ahead of the launch, while the Majorca-based production team has been halved to limit risk.
One said: “The team flown out to Majorca this year is half the size of previous years. Anyone who can work on the show from the UK is. And all the contestants have had to quarantine in Majorca as a precautionary measure.
“The bosses know that if anyone falls sick, the whole show could fall apart. But it seems that the message about exercising caution hasn’t reached Laura.

“She hasn’t broken any rules, but they definitely won’t be too impressed that she has put herself at greater risk of contracting and passing on Covid-19.
“Especially when she mingles with the contestants while presenting the show.”
A spokeswoman for Laura last night declined to comment.
