Final Fantasy 7 Intergrade: How To Choose Between Performance or Graphics Mode
With Final Fantasy 7 Intergrade available on the PlayStation 5, the game features new quality options. This guide will show players which one to choose between Performance or Graphic mode. The original Final Fantasy 7 Remake worked incredibly well on the PlayStation 4 but did require some improvements. There were moments when certain environmental textures wouldn't load or the game would take long loading the next section. Fortunately, the PlayStation 5 port comes along with improved load times, better textures, and system enhancements. For the first time, players are now able to choose if they wish to prioritize how the game performs or how the game looks. This guide will show players the benefits of both versions.
The game offers two different game modes for players to change between.
- Graphics Mode: This version will prioritize 4k higher-resolution graphics. The textures will look better and the environments will seem crisper than ever before. Although, the game will not run at a solid 60 frames per second.
- Performance Mode: This version will prioritize running the game at 60 frames per second but will sacrifice some of the game's new graphical improvements to make it possible.
Ultimately, it does come down to personal preference and what type of monitor the player has. Most might not have a 4K TV, meaning the graphics mode won't have the chance to pop. Players will need to have a 4K TV to really take advantage of this mode. Here is how players can switch between the two.
At any point, players can pause the game and head over to the settings. New to this version are the graphics settings. A new image will appear of a Chocobo icon showing the frame rate difference between the two different modes. Although it's important to mention the Graphics Mode shines much brighter outside of this menu. From experience, the Performance Mode is the best way to go for playing the game on harder difficulties. An improved frame rate will make it much easier to keep track of everything happening on the screen.
Although, Graphics Mode is great for players on their second playthroughs who wish to see the game in a new light. Both versions are great but it's important to have a 4k monitor ready if players are interested in Graphics mode. As consoles become more elaborate, hopefully putting these two together into a single-mode for the best graphics and frame rate will be the direction developers are heading. Regardless, the PlayStation 5 port of Final Fantasy 7 Remake is the best way to experience the game.
Final Fantasy 7 Intergrade is available now on PlayStation 5.
