ST. LOUIS — Heavy storms rumbled through the region Saturday evening, leaving thousands without power.
St. Peters issued voluntary boil and water-conservation orders after it lost power to critical infrastructure. Residents are urged to limit their water usage while the utilities department works on its treatment system. Status updates will be provided at stpetersmo.net.
At 8:15 p.m., Ameren reported almost 39,000 Missouri residents without service and about 3,400 in Illinois.
The storms dropped temperatures into the 70s, a reprieve from Friday’s record-breaking heat.
