Met police officer to face trial after being charged with sexually assaulting a woman at a hotel while on duty
A MET police officer is to face trial after being charged with sexually assaulting a woman at a hotel while on duty.
PC Rudvelle Walters, 47, who is attached to the North West Command Unit, will appear for trial at Southwark Crown Court charged with sexual assault.
PC Rudvelle Walters will appear in front of Southwark Crown Court[/caption] The officer was charged in May – and will now face court charged with sexual assault[/caption]The ordeal was reported to have happened on February 5 2019 at 6am at a hotel on the High Road in Wembley – when the officer was on duty.
He was arrested on the same day after the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards was informed.
The police force then made a referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct – who carried out an investigation into the ordeal.
He was charged on May 19 this year – and was subsequently suspended from duty.
The officer will now appear for trial on Monday, June 21.
An additional charge against PC Walters of attempted sexual assault relating to the same incident was discontinued.
