90 Day Fiancé: Why Libby's Mom Doesn't Appear On The Series
Libby and Andrei Castravet have become regulars on the hit TLC 90 Day Fiancé spin-offs following their first appearance in season five. While fans have mixed feelings towards them and their chaotic family drama, they seem to be here to stay. While the drama with Chuck, Andrei, and the rest of Libby’s family continues, viewers have been confused as to why Libby’s mother does not appear in the series.
Over the course of Libby and Andrei’s relationship with 90 Day Fiancé, fans have accused them of trying to angle for their own family reality show like The Family Chantel. With the number of spin-offs the franchise has, it is not impossible that Libby’s family could gain their own show. Still, fans aren't excited for a possible Potthast family series. Andrei has gotten into it with every member of Libby’s family, so their storylines are often repetitive.
Libby’s mother is Pamela Putnam, and she is a talent agent. She helped Libby gain a few credits when she wanted to pursue acting. Libby even appeared in Homeland as an extra. Pamela owns a talent agency called Stellar Talents and represents actors, dancers, models, and singers. She is divorced from Libby’s dad Chuck Potthast and remarried Walter Putnam in June 2012. She has three daughters and three sons. Despite not appearing on the show Pamela was recently criticized for homophobic comments.
Pamela is remarried and lives in North Carolina while the rest of the family lives in Florida, hence why she may not appear on the show. It would be difficult to drive down for filming days when she lives so far away. As a busy business owner, she may also not have enough time to insert herself into the storylines the producers concoct. However, she has been in a few scenes on the show, mostly for important events. She usually stays in the background. Libby spoke about her mom when she discussed with Andrei whom to allow in the birthing room. Libby’s mother also made an appearance at her wedding in Moldova.
Libby's mom may not have a desire to appear on the TLC series, as she may want to protect her reputation or her business. While the family drama on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? continues to unfold, viewers will be able to catch up with Libby and Andrei as they continue to deal with their constant family drama. Love them or hate them, these two are here to stay.
