RHOD: Cast Shakeup Seems Imminent As Only 3 Housewives May Return

0

The future of the Real Housewives of Dallas is in question as rumors of a cast shakeup have been circulating, with only three housewives believed to be returning for season 6. Bravo's ninth installment of the Real Housewives franchise began airing in 2016 and was a welcome addition. The Dallas ladies provided a breath of fresh air and were different from other housewives in a positive way. During the first four seasons of the show, a majority of the conflict was between the other ladies and LeeAnne Locken. At any given moment, there was at least one cast member who had an issue with LeeAnne. At the end of season 4, LeeAnne was fired after she made racist comments towards newcomer Kary Brittingham, who is of Mexican ancestry.

A few other RHOD cast members have been accused of racism since LeeAnne was fired. Between season 4 and 5, a video of Brandi mocking Asians resurfaced on Twitter, with fans calling Bravo out for having a double standard against LeeAnne. Brandi apologized off the show, and also on the show, having to explain herself to new cast member Tiffany Moon, who is of Asian decent. Housewife Kameron Westcott and her family were also called out for their racist rhetoric towards Tiffany during a Twitter war which took place after the airing of the reunion. Kameron accused Tiffany of doing whiteface, because she used a clown emoji, while her husband Court said her anti-racism ideology somehow promotes racism. Court's brother also got involved in the drama, claiming she was blackout drunk when he met her, and insinuated she may have gone into surgery the next day while hungover.

With all the behind the scenes drama, rumors started flying around that a cast shakeup is coming and only three of the current housewives will remain. The Real Housewives franchise Instagram page first posted about the rumors and also speculated the addition of three new housewives. There are a few reasons why the rumors continue to circulate. As Reality Blurb reports, Brandi seemingly decided to quit back in February, stating she is choosing happiness, but has not commented on whether or not she plans on returning to film since. Tiffany also sparked rumors she was planning on quitting the show, when changing her Instagram bio to say "previous RHOD cast member," after Kameron's outbursts on Twitter. Despite the change in her bio, Tiffany's rep maintained that she is not leaving the show.

While it is unknown whether or not these rumors of a cast shakeup are true, fans have already given their opinions on which three housewives they hope are staying. If there is one thing housewives fans can agree on, it is which RHOD cast members should stay. The general consensus among fans is that housewives Stephanie Hollman, Tiffany Moon and D'Andra Simmons should remain on the show. One fan was certain it would be these three to return, while another felt Stephanie and D'Andra were safe, but it is a tossup between Kam and Tiffany for the third spot. One commenter went as far as saying she really hopes Kam is not asked back on the show. If Bravo is planning a cast shakeup, they sure know what the fans want.

It will be interesting to see if these rumors are true when Bravo announces the cast for the show's upcoming season soon. Fans were complaining about a lackluster season 5, so it is interesting to know, if the rumors are true, if Bravo decided to shakeup the cast because of a subpar season, or because of problematic cast members. If the rumors are true, it will also be interesting to see whether Bravo will listen to the fans in regards to who they keep and who is let go. It will also exciting to see who they choose to replace the current Real Housewives of Dallas ladies with, assuming they really are going in that direction.
