Darkseid is Pushing Flash Down an Inescapable Path | Screen Rant

In a preview for Infinite Frontier #6, Darkseid takes on Infinite Frontier's heroes, whilst the Flash is set on an inescapable path. Everything has been building up to this, Darkseid is finally revealed as the big bad pulling the Omniverse's strings. Operating from the Omega planet, Darkseid's plans for the new Omniverse are being set in motion, whilst DC's heroes only just uncover what exactly he’s been up to. They will do all they can to try and stop him, but there's a strong chance that they fail.
DC has teased that the Infinite Frontier miniseries is just "Act One" of their plans and that bigger things are coming, meaning that it's likely Darkseid reigns on past the new miniseries’ final issue. The next phase of DC's multiverse begins with how Infinite Frontier #6 ends, concluding the beginning of Joshua Williamson's master plan for DC. Everyone will be affected by Darkseid’s actions, but the hero that is teased to be the most impacted, just like in Crisis on Infinite Earths, is Barry Allen.
In Infinite Frontier #6 by Joshua Williamson and Xermanico, Barry Allen finds himself in a tricky situation. Details about why Flash is set on this path are scarce, but it’s inferred that Darkseid has something to do with it. Considering that Infinite Frontier is being set up as a crisis event, it makes sense that parallels to Crisis on Infinite Earths are present. During Crisis, Barry was captured by the Anti-Monitor and manipulated by Psycho-Pirate, who is also appearing in Infinite Frontier. This led to him taking ahold of Psycho-Pirate and using him to disarm the Anti-Monitor. Barry was pivotal to stopping the Anti-Monitor and will probably play a similar role here. DC has positioned Barry as the Flash of the multiverse. His role in the Justice Incarnate is to keep track of the Omniverse’s changes. Running between the many Earths of the multiverse, Barry will likely be the one to discover Darkseid. There’s a chance that on his discovery, something could happen to the Scarlet Speedster which will be the inciting event that sets Barry down his teased path. Whether he will be captured or not, Flash’s return to normal is going to be vital if they are to stop Darkseid.
Ultimately, the events of DC’s Infinite Frontier miniseries are just the beginning of what’s to come. The next year of comics has already been planned. Also, according to Joshua Williamson, every book and character will somehow link into Infinite Frontier’s next acts. The scale of DC’s next crisis event will rise beyond just the select few heroes of the new miniseries, affecting every DC hero. Readers can only wonder just what horrible path Darkseid will lead the Flash down.
