‘Ungrateful fans’ – Former Tottenham figure rules out return

Former Tottenham part-owner and chairman, Lord Alan Sugar has insisted that he would rather poke needles into his eye than own the North London club again.

The popularity of Daniel Levy and ENIC seems to be at an all-time low among some Spurs fans, particularly owing to the European Super League debacle.

The fiasco with regards to the club’s pursuit of a new head coach has done little to ease fan frustrations regarding the club’s ownership.

Sugar, who sold his majority stake in Spurs to ENIC in 2001, certainly knows a thing or two about being on the receiving end of fan backlash, with the Lillywhites struggling on the pitch during the majority of his time there.

The Apprentice host defended Daniel Levy in an interview with GB News last week, insisting that being the owner of Tottenham brings as many negative attacks as being prime minister does.

Sugar has now once again expressed disdain for the way he was treated by the fans during his time as Spurs chairman.
