Lithuania says it is ready to “defend itself” against illegal migrants with army

Minister of Defense of Lithuania Arvydas Anušauskas said that in case of emergency on the border with Belarus, the Baltic army is ready “to stand in front of illegal migrants”

“The armed forces are in constant readiness, which is an important factor. Therefore, if necessary, the army will deploy additional resources to cover the border”, –  said the head of defense.

As News Front reported earlier, the Lithuanian authorities accused President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko of “unprecedented attack by migrants. The Belarusian leader responded by threatening the West to relax control over drug trafficking and illegal migration.
