Hayward: One killed in Interstate 880 crash involving multiple vehicles

HAYWARD — One person was killed Sunday in a crash involving multiple vehicles on Interstate 880, the California Highway Patrol said.

California Highway Patrol officers responded to reports of a vehicle losing control at about 3:03 a.m. Sunday morning on Interstate 880 at the interchange with Interstate 238 in Hayward.

Officers who responded found multiple vehicles had collided and one person who was not breathing. The Alameda County Coroner’s office responded to the scene.

The person who was killed was not publicly identified pending notification of their next of kin. No further information was immediately available.
