Glesnes scored in stoppage time to earn the Union a road point

The Norwegian hammer has struck again.

Jakob Glesnes connected on a long range rocket — this time from the run of play — to earn the Philadelphia Union a dramatic late equalizer in a 2-2 draw with Atlanta United on Sunday.

The goal was his second of the season and third of his Union career with echoes back to his stunning long range free kick in a 3-3 draw at LAFC in 2020.

Unlike last time when the Covid-19 pandemic suspended the season and he never was awarded a Goal of the Week, this strike should hopefully earn the center back a much-deserved superlative.
